Safety and Health
The SITEP places among its priorities:
- The safety of the company's personnel as well as its equipment and the health of the staff working on its behalf.
- Adequate and continuous training, development of skills and periodic awareness-raising on QHSE risks and occupational accident prevention.
Thus, the number of work accidents has decreased significantly over the last five years. The SITEP will continue its safety strategy aiming at zero accidents.
Main projects and activities carried out in the field of occupational safety and health:
- Risk Assessment of the El Borma Site
- Review of the Internal Operation Plan
- Study of explosive atmospheres in the Oil Centre
- Acquisition and Commissioning of the workover Franks firefighting system
- Reinforcement of mobile fire-fighting equipment through the purchase of a new multiagent fire-fighting truck (water, foam and powder)
- Installation of IVMS systems in vehicles
- Health risk assessment of the produced water lake area,
- Purchase and provision of Personal Protective Equipment & Collective Protective Equipment,
- Noise measurement campaign at El Borma site,
- Air quality measurement campaign at workstations,
- Drinking water sampling and analysis campaign,
- Daily medical follow-up in collaboration with the on-site medical centre and the headquarters,
- Coronavirus protection and prevention protocol in collaboration with the Directorate General, the occupational health and safety committee and the relevant entities,
- QHSE supervision of activities and airport assistance,
- Conducting emergency exercises to test the preparedness of response teams and the effectiveness of response equipment,
- Carrying out training & awareness raising on QHSE aspects,
- Monitoring and reporting of QHSE performance indicators,
- Investigation and analysis of accidents/incidents/near misses and hazardous situations in order to determine and address the root causes of these events,
