Palm grove
As part of its regional shining and as a citizen enterprise that respects the environmental values of a durable and social development. The SITEP has taken since the beginning of the 80`s an agricultural driving project of palm dates.
The palm grove extends over 50 acres perched between 2 dunes and contains 4600 palm dates, at the origin of the species of Deglet Ennour.10 000 forest trees were planted around the oasis in order to protect the palms from the sand winds, and create a softer microclimate which gave the fruit the flavour we know.
In 2009, the production of the palm grove was about 50 tonnes of an excellent quality of dates presented under the name and the logo “Deglet El Borma”.
