The SITEP puts in priority:

- The security of the human heritage and the materials and the health of the personnel .
- The adequate and continuous training, the development of competencies and the periodic sensitization of the agents to the prevention from the work accidents. As it were, the number of work accidents has been distinctly decreased: from 60 accidents in 1995 to 4 accidents only in 2008.

The SITEP will continue to pursue its strategy of security aiming at the objective of “zero accident”. Conforming to the regulation in operation that governs the classified installation of the internal operation of the field of El Borma (PIO), the SITEP had put since 1999.

The PIO of the field of El Borma was established on the basis of the methodological guide of GESIP and it was supported by the results and the conclusions of the studies of danger earlier realised.

In June 2009, the SITEP started to realise the 5th revision of its PIO. This new revision is enriched by the adjunction of the 2 new chapters, the urgent plan of the airport of El Borma and that of the 3 buildings of Tunis (the head office, the socio-cultural centre and the stocking store)
